MLM Blogging – Here’s A Simple Way To Build Your Optin List

List Building Give Away Events

I have no idea why it took me so long to participate in a List Building Give Away Event, and after the seeing the optins fly in to my blogging list, I will be sure to ALWAYS participate in the future. I literally TRIPLED my MLM Blog list in one week by contributing to Stephanie Mulac’s “Ultimate Blogging Giveaway”.

What is a List Building Give Away Event?

A Give Away event is a list building STRATEGY that has become extremely popular with online marketers over the past few years. Depending on the theme of the event, it is possible to find HUNDREDS of other niche specific online maketers gathering to use the event to add more people to their optin subscriber base. The thought process behind this is very simple. Give away your best content for FREE, and you add highly targeted subscribers to your list.

The process is very simple. You join as a contributor, provide a free gift to the event, usually an eBook (this is what I offered), a piece of software or some other type of down-loadable digital product. You create a squeeze page with an optin subscription form on it. People fill in the form and join your list in exchange for the free gift. You can even participate in one of these give away events if you don’t have your own product. Many times the host of the give away will be able to provide you with a suitable product to give away, allowing you to build your own list and giving someone else’s product alot of exposure in exchange for the right to give it away as a gift.

Giveaway events come in a myriad of sizes and on a wide variety of topics. They are held throughout the entire year. To find possible events to join,  all you have to do is a quick search online for “giveaway JV” or “giveaway event” and you will get a listing of sites that are hosting giveaway events.

Things You Need To Know Before Joining A Give Away Event

I highly recommend that you sign up for a couple of these events BEFORE you decide to contribute a product. This is what I did so that I could learn how to become a quality contributor.

I learned how the process works. I was able to download some free products that interested me and (this is a big one) I joined the lists of other marketers so that I could study how they set up their giveaway system.  This is a great way to snoop on your competition (nothing beats market research and  intelligence).  It’s also a great way to see what kinds of products other people are giving away and you just might be able to get your hands on some relevant products that you could use to build your own list.

If you are not sure how to setup your own marketing funnel, pay attention to what the more experienced marketers are doing. They will send you a number of followup emails;  thanking you, offering you additional free training and free gifts. They will also try to lure you into their sales funnel with a valuable, low cost offer.  Pay attention to what these people are doing,  because they are very effective in converting subscribers from these give away events into paying customers :-).

But Rose, There Are No MLM Give Away Events

True … But, I want you to consider this:  as MLM Bloggers, we don’t blog about MLM all of the time. Most MLM Blogs that I read have exceptional content focused on:

  • Leadership
  • Social Media
  • Internet Marketing
  • Facebook Marketing
  • How To Use Twitter
  • PPC Strategies
  • Video Marketing
  • Prospecting – Cold Market, Warm Market
  • Mindset and Personal Growth
  • Product Reviews

You probably have enough content already written through your MLM blog posts so that you could create an amazing give away product for any of those niches. Or, if you are anything like me, you have 2 or 3 half written e-Books sitting on your computer that would only take a few days to finish. When you find a give away that interests you, check to see how much content you already have written focusing on that topic and create a product with it. This is a great way to repurpose your content, get it distributed in a big way and build your opt in list.

Here is what I did. I heard that Stephanie Mulac was running the “Ultimate Blogging Event Give Away” during the middle of August. I investigated the event and decided that it was worth contributing to (I have participated in a few of Stephanie’s events before and they are great).  I took my e-Book, “Dead Blogs Don’t Lie”, tweaked some of the information in it, signed myself up as a contributor, paid a really small upgrade fee to get my product featured, created an optin page and a thank you page on my MLM Blog, submitted my e-Book and promoted the event to my list and did a writeup about the event on my blog.

Here are my results. 671 new optins to my blogging list. Over 300 new connections on Facebook and Twitter. A dozen or so people have already emailed me with comments and questions about the material that I cover in the e-Book. Time invested in participating in this event, about 3 hours. Not to mention, my Alexa ranking has gone down by 10,000, I have added OVER 100 new subscribers to my MLM Blog readership and my bounce rate has dropped from 17.64% to 3.8%  – that is a REALLY SICK bounce rate btw 🙂 !

Here are my future plans. My goal with participating in this give away event is to ultimately convert the people on my blogging list into long term customers. So, I have a lot of additional blogging information that I am sending to them for FREE as part of my followup. I also have some great affiliate products that I am recommending to them sprinkled in those followup emails. I know that if I treat my new subscribers right by giving them so much value I blow their minds, I will have created MORE raving fans of what I do and life long customers that cannot imagine doing business with anyone else when they need the services that I offer.

I hope that you received some real value from this post! Be sure to leave your questions, comments and suggestions in the comments area. And take a minute to share this post with YOUR Tribe!! If you are interested in participating in a Give Away Event and need some help getting started, please let me know and I will give you a hand.

MLM Blogging – Here’s A Heaping Helping Of Spam Casserole For You !!

Imagine this … You know that I am a professional chef who cooks simply amazing, mouthwatering, wholesome organic food. I tell you about how I am going shopping for fresh, wild Alaskan salmon that was just flown into the Fulton Fish Market, the beautiful fresh herbs and roots I am going to buy from the best shop in Chinatown, the absolutely perfect, tender, yet very crisp baby greens and screaming fresh, totally organic veggies that I love buying at the Amish market in Union Square. I am going to grill that yummy salmon over cherry wood briquettes, accompany it with a light, fragrant lemongrass and ginger vinaigrette, all served over those crispy baby greens and lightly steamed crispy, crunchy veggies. Totally YUMMY !!

You are into all natural, all organic, super clean, super healthy food. WE are going to have dinner over at my house and you simply can’t wait to have some totally divine, super yummy, healthy food prepared for you by the Mistress of Gourmet Whole Organic Foods …. ME. You come over to my house, just about drooling already. You walk in the door and the smells are soooo tantalizing. Your tummy starts growling. We start chit-chatting over a nice glass of perfectly chilled Gewurztraminer and I excuse myself to bring the food from the kitchen.

You are STUNNED when you see the plate that I bring back to the table and put in front of you. STUNNED. Your jaw drops down … you start stuttering because you can’t believe you are actually seeing what you are looking at. I nonchalantly sit down at the table with you and I am ready to eat !!

“Rose, what is this?”

“Oh … I hope you don’t mind but I was crunched for time today, so I whipped up a totally tricked out version of Bavarian Carbonarra, I respond.”

“Ummm … what exactly is Bavarian Carbonarra?”, you ask.

Laughing I say, “Some people might call it Spam Casserole. I hope that you enjoy it. One of my Mom’s 1960’s revival recipes. It is almost an heirloom !! Bon Apetit !!”

Imagine my SHOCK when I get into work the next day and find out that you canceled your humongous Saturday night catering order with me. I try to connect with you to find out what is going on. NO ANSWER. For two days I try to connect with you to find out what happened. I am actually convinced that you had a family emergency and had to cancel your party. I have no idea what happened. I thought we had a good time at dinner the other day. We were laughing and joking … although you barely ate anything at all. Who knows … maybe YOU weren’t feeling well … You don’t come back to the store … so I never have the opportunity to find out what’s wrong from you.

A month later, a friend of mine, another whole food, organic caterer pops into the store. We are talking back and forth about business and life. She tells me thank you for sending her that catering  job that I couldn’t handle last month. I don’t have a clue what she is talking about and I tell her so.

“Oh you know … so and so … who is all about nothing but whole food and organic ingredients. She told me, that you told her, that some of the product that you got in for her party wasn’t up to her standards and that I would be able to take care of her better. So, thanks … she is shopping regularly at my store now and I am doing another party for her this weekend. Thanks for a great referral. Do you need some help getting really good products? My purveyors are AWESOME.  Well … got to run !!”

Talk about jaw dropping … pure and utter … SHOCK !!

MLM Bloggers Beware

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about CORE AUTHENTICTY and the importance of it when writing your posts. That little story above illustrates the absolute need for authenticity and congruency in EVERYTHING that you do through Social Networking and MLM Blogging is part of Social Networking.

If you portray yourself one way on your MLM Blog, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and people fall in love with you, you simply cannot afford to do a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when you email people that have opted into your email list. If people opt in to your list because they love what you are talking about and you are all about helping them, when you email them and all that you are doing is selling stuff … your stuff … other peoples stuff … they will opt out of your list never to be heard from again. You just blew your credibility with them forever. If you are lucky, they won’t report you for SPAM. If people are expecting one thing and you give them the complete opposite of what they were expecting, it really is SPAM.

As MLM Bloggers, we work too hard to build a list of people that are WILLING  to listen to what we have to say. Some people blog for YEARS in order to build a list of a couple of thousand subscribers. And, if those people are congruent with their “public” persona and their “email” persona, they have a lot of people CHOOSING to work with them in their MLM/Network Marketing opportunity. People feel like that person can be trusted. People feel that that person has integrity. People feel SAFE with them. And when people know you, like you and trust you … they do business with you.  It’s as simple as that.

If someone is teaching you that it is ok to email your list twice a day about some new THING that they should buy and they are not teaching you to segment your e-mail list, you will have serious problems. Your opt-out rate will skyrocket. And remember something, people talk. People talk about everyone and everything. And when people are feeling violated, they will tell EVERYONE they know about their horrible experience with you and how you are only in it to make money. They will tell other people to stay away from you and all of that hard work you did to create an awesome MLM blog will be flushed down the drain.

If you are not smart about how you market people will figure you out in a heartbeat. People are NOT stupid. And today, their BS-O-METERS start pinging faster than ever.

I recently heard an experienced network marketer tell people on a training call …

“Oh sure, I love people to death with the great information that I put on my blog so that they will optin to my list for more training. Sure, I send them some training. BUT once they are on my list, EVERY email that I send to them has an offer for them to buy something. And when I have a big promotion going on with some of my buddies, I email my whole  list AT LEAST twice a day… once early in the morning and once early in the evening. When I do that, sure I get people that opt out, but heck, that’s the cost of doing business on the internet. I am here to make money. They opted in, if they don’t like it, they can opt out.”

And, we wonder why people have such a bad opinion of internet network marketing and think that all internet network marketers are spammers.

We are all here to build our businesses and profit. We can do it with honor and integrity as MLM Bloggers by serving people in such a way that they FEEL GOOD about doing business with us. Our MLM Blogs are information and training portals that allow us teach what we know and to market products and services that will benefit our readers. The email lists that we are able to build through our MLM Blogging should be treated with the utmost respect, because those lists have EVERYTHING to do with us being able to be profitable business owners for a long time.

It is commonly said that the money is in the list. That is a LIE. The money is dependent on the quality of the relationships that you build and nurture over time with the people on that list.

By being congruent and authentic, we can serve the people that we are supposed to be serving. We can teach our teams to do the same thing. We can totally raise the standard of how people perceive internet network marketing through using ethical MLM Blogging and email practices. And we can build fabulous businesses for ourselves in the process !! When done correctly, you NEVER have to SELL a darn thing. People will voluntarily send wheelbarrows full of cash to you when the time is right for them.

Hope that you have received some AWESOME value from this post !!

==>>P.P.S. The story that I told you is a slightly modified TRUE story. It is how the owner of the gourmet shop that I was consulting for lost half of her long time client base. She invited her best customers over to her house for dinner one night. She was always talking about eating healthy, light, top-quality organic food. The food she served that evening featured her favorite menu: BBQ Bay Back Ribs, 24 oz Prime Grilled Rib Eye Steaks, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Velveeta Macaroni and Cheese, Cornbread with honey and butter, Slow Cooked Hocks and Collard Greens and Red Velvet Cake. Several of the guests found the Costco shopping bags in the trash in the kitchen. Sad but true, the owner of the store thought that everyone would appreciate having “real food” for a change and couldn’t understand why people were annoyed and stopped doing business with her.

MLM Blogging – Independence Day 2010

Fireworks Rose Mis NYC

Many of the folks here in the US are celebrating Independence Day this long weekend. Fun, sun, beach, BBQ’s, fireworks, friends, family … My question is; How many people are truly celebrating INDEPENDENCE? FREEDOM? LIBERATION? or simply just a few days away from their boss, their job, the daily grind? And I am sure you are wondering what this has to do with being an MLM Blogger, right? Read on!

A Really Skinned Down Independence Day Refresher

In June 1776, the leaders of the American Revolution sat down to draw up the Declaration of independence. Those were rough times. The 13 original colonies were fighting for their freedom from England and her taxation without representation policies. Two of the most well known signers of the Declaration of Independence were Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. They presented the final draft of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It was on that day, the 13 colonies declared their independence from England and spoke a new nation into existence.

Was it easy for the new nation to maintain her freedom? Hardly. There ensued 8 years of of war, bloodshed, death, intense hardship; culminating in the British formally abandoning any claim to the US by signing the Treaty of Paris in 1783. During those long hard 8 years, the citizens of the 13 colonies stuck together, unified by certain truths

“that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights – Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”

These folks were prepared to give everything they possessed, including their lives, and many of them did that, so that they, their families and their country could be FREE and INDEPENDENT,  to have a say and control over how their lives were going to be lived. By their very acts, generations of Americans have been able to live freely and independently. This lifestyle has gone on to inspire and ignite the possibility of freedom and autonomy for people in every corner of the world. Freedom is not free.  It comes with a price and we should all cherish and be grateful for what we have. America is VERY a special country.  And I love and honor her and all of the people that live here!

Let’s Take A Walk Together Down Main Street USA July 4, 2010

Lots of Main Streets all over the US are all gussied up for the 4th. Red, white and blue EVERYWHERE. If you take the time to look behind the banners and streamers, you will see lots of Mom and Pop shops boarded up and closed for business. Take the time to listen to the side conversations that people are having in between the music. You will hear words of FEAR and DESPERATION. You can see the stress that working 80, 90, 100+ hours a week is having on lots of folks, good folks. People are ANGRY and with good reason. The AMERICAN DREAM that our forefathers spoke into being all those many years ago is vaporizing right before everyone’s eyes.

“People don’t wake up and consciously decide to live little, weak, angry lives. They don’t decide to live a life of work-to-pay bills and be sad. THAT takes YEARS of trial and error!”

Your MLM Blog Is Your Internet Water-Cooler On The Freedom Trail

Have you ever worked anywhere that has a water-cooler? I have. Water-coolers are the working world’s social equivalent of a mini cocktail party. People go to the water-cooler to hang out and chit chat enjoying a quick ten minute respite from the phones, the boss, the inbox … whatever. They catch up with their peers and get all the juicy news. It usually is a lower stress point in the day. What happens when people start ratcheting up the stress level at the water cooler? Most folks will just turn around and walk right back to whatever stress filled situation they left to catch a break from for a couple of minutes.

Is your MLM Blog a fun water-cooler to be hanging out around? Or, is it one of those really high pressure places  that just makes people want to go back to their own misery and not even consider the possible FREEDOM you could offer them if only they could relax enough to read what you have to say? What if you could create an environment with your blog that was so much fun and served people so well that even those frightened, angry and confused people calmed down and truly engaged with you while reading your information.  What if you were able to HELP people see something outside of their current reality and they started dreaming again?

There is always a price for FREEDOM. YOUR freedom and mine depends on how many other people we serve well while they choose to travel along  with us on the Freedom Trail. We really do have to go the extra mile. We really do have to OVER-DELIVER on the “How can I best serve you today” part. People remember those kind of things. When we make life better for them, we get  “credit” deposited in our Freedom Fighter Account.  We also get a whole lot of know, like and trust points from those people. And the more of those that we have, the easier it becomes for those people to naturally follow and partner with us in whichever direction we go.

Take a look at what happened to England when she did not treat the Colonists as anything other than a revenue source. England did not listen, she did not respect and she did not serve the Colonists. She only demanded from them. And they resisted her mightily. The Colonists were prepared to DIE for the right to be FREE from England’s unfair treatment. England REPELLED the source of a significant portion of her income, while America was attracting more and more FREEDOM FIGHTERS. America opened her arms wide and said to the world,

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

And they came … they are still coming !!

That’s how our MLM blogs should make people feel; safe, protected, comfortable and valued. Alexa rankings are great. SEO is important. Keywords are very important as well. But, the most critical thing about your mlm blog is HOW you make other people feel when they read what you write and how well they are served by the information you give them !!

Hope that you have received some AWESOME value from this post !!

I wish you and yours a FANTASTIC 4th of July ~ INDEPENDENCE ROCKS

MLM Blogging – The Tribe Syndication Association (TSA) X-Factor

Tribe Syndaication Association (TSA)

I am always looking for better ways to get my blog content in front of as many of the right people as possible and I know that lots of other people are looking to do the same thing. There are lots of different ways to do this: article marketing and directory submissions, different social networking sites, traditional press releases, social media press releases, ezines, newsletters, video sharing sites, photo sharing sites. I am sure that you get the basic idea. However, all of this takes alot of time and the results (i.e. more traffic, comments and higher Alexa ratings) are not guaranteed.

As a business person, I am always looking to find ways to leverage myself, my time and my resources (this is why I LOVE MLM :-)).  As blogger who is busy building a business, there are only a couple of seemingly viable options available when it comes to content syndication. I could either outsource my blogging and content syndication, hoping that I could find someone to write in my voice (a VERY hard thing to do) or I could become a member of a paid “Syndication Network” and  in exchange for having others syndicating my content, I would syndicate other people’s content (this requires a HUGE time commitment in big communities) while paying a premium for that privilege. Neither of those options worked really well for me. However, as things usually happen in this world, I found out about the Tribe Syndication Association (TSA) from Gavin Mountford, our resident Facebook Network Marketing expert at thatMLMbeat.com.

The Amazing VALUE of TSA

No question about it, promoting yourself on the internet these days is viewed as a VERY anti-social, newbie thing to do. VERY dew experts toot their own horn. They always have other people do it for them.  Google is VERY SMART and understands this. Consequently, they rate your MLM BLOG on how much your content is promoted by OTHER PEOPLE.

Herein lies the TRUE VALUE of the TSA.

Have you ever wanted:

  • more comments on your posts?
  • more views to your videos?
  • more friends and followers on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube?
  • more natural exposure on the internet? (Google pays attention to this as well. If they feel that your “exposure” is not natural, you get penalized)

The Tribe Syndication Association (TSA) can benefit you tremendously. Additionally, the TSA is a great opportunity to network with other MLM Bloggers and create strong relationships that could possibly pay off handsomely in the future.

Dave Cook, creator of the Tribe Syndication Association is a true leader and visionary.

His vision for TSA is very simple – To Become The Most Powerful Syndication Tribe On The Net! PERIOD!

The more that content is syndicated by TSA members,  the more outside syndication will occur.  ONLY GOOD CONTENT will be syndicated by TSA members. Everyone is responsible for managing their own reputation. Dave has created an organized system to help get people’s content promoted and it works !! 🙂

One of the things that I truly appreciate about the TSA is that it is a “free” syndication network. And by free I mean that there are no monthly charges associated with membership in TSA. Most MLM and Network Marketing syndication Tribes are now charging monthly fees for their memberships. The only real “cost” to being a member of TSA is the amount of time that you spend syndicating other people’s content. Here is where the Law of Reciprocity comes in – the more members give to each other, the more they will  receive!! “You have got to GIVE in order to RECEIVE !!

If you are considering syndicating your content in order to get better distribution, you really should take a look at the TSA.  There are a number of great bloggers involved already. The relationships that you build with these other MLM bloggers could be very important to you in the future.

Tribe Syndication Association has a group page here on thatMLMbeat.com as well. You can check it out by clicking ===>>>HERE<<<=== You can meet many of the TSA members, get a feel for what the TSA is all about, and even get some really good training that several of the TSA members conduct on marketing and syndication within this group!!

Hope that you have received some AWESOME value from this post !!

Lazy, Hazy, Summertime MLM Blogging

The Sun's So BRIGHT I Gotta Wear Shades

The 90 days of SUMMER 2010 are here already. Where on earth has the first half of the year gone to? Lots of MLM Bloggers just might find it a bit challenging to blog consistently with all of the summertime fun and activities that will be going on. So, here are some of my thoughts on how to joyfully blog on, while having some serious summer fun. Would love to hear what some of YOUR ideas are. Be sure share them below with everyone 🙂

I have got to be really frank with you, this is not what I originally planned to be blogging about tonight. But, after racing back into the house to write this post (which is 4 hours overdue at this point … George will just have to forgive me), I think it is a VERY timely topic.

If I had had my wits about me, I would have brought my Flip with me to the BBQ. Nothing is more entertaining or effective than delivering a great message through video, especially when everyone in the video is having a fantastic time . If you have been following all of the launches that have been going on for the past couple of weeks, each one of them has been delivered via video and then followed up by email. Video has become the little black dress of internet marketing.

Many  MLM Bloggers and internet network marketers have found that they can create very dynamic content and “stickiness” through this medium. They are also able to create an unparalleled  level of intimacy with their readers and subscribers through using video on standard blogs, or even creating vlogs. The fact is, video is far more effective than plain text any day.

Writing a plain text blog post, like this one for example, requires a certain amount of pre-blogging work. You have to find the right photos to “garnish” your blog post with. Earlier this week, fellow team blogger, Derek Alvarez, wrote a blog post about “Choosing A Facebook Ad Picture That Would Make A Peacock Jealous”. The same concept applies to creating a blog post that will totally grab your reader’s attention both intellectually and emotionally. Pictures are a great way to engage someone’s emotions by hooking them visually and triggering a subconscious memory response. When that happens, people are subconsciously compelled to pay attention to what you have to say, allowing them to easily connect more deeply with you.

Transitioning From Traditional Blogging To Vlogging

Many bloggers, myself included, already use video on their traditional blogs to enhance their reader’s experience. I think that creating shorter written blog posts and adding video is a very smart way to leverage both time and the ability to build reader rapport alot more quickly. One of the decisions that I made to improve my personal blog’s rankings is to do shorter, more frequent posts enhanced with video. I will be using this strategy for  the entire summer and evaluating the results to see if I want to keep on doing it after 90 days.

Videos don’t have to be terribly time consuming. With a little bit of planning, you can pretty much use ANY real time experience to illustrate a valuable network marketing success tip that your readers will benefit from. You could even create a series based around a single event that you break into 3-4 minute multiple segments. And that results in a week’s worth of MLM blog posts created pretty much all at the same time.

What a really cool way to have your strawberry shortcake and have enough time to be able to eat it too!

If you have any questions about using video on your blog … let me know in the comments below !!!

Out With The Old, In With The New [Plus a Special Invitation]

Old vs New

Wow, a whole week since my last post, but you will soon see why. Let’s just say it’s the calm before the storm!

Unless this is your first time here, you might have realized a new look and feel on thatMLMbeat. So I have to ask: How do you feel about the new look? Do you like it? Or do you prefer the old design and layout?

Personally I am still slightly attached to the old theme and it’s functionalities, but not the technicalities and endless customization that came with it.

Being a custom theme that wasn’t built for the social platform we are using, it’s been like trying to convert a four wheel drive into a grand prix racing car. Both are good for what they were built for, but not so for the opposite.

So here is our new theme chosen with two thoughts in mind; easy navigation and growth.

The old look was getting a little busy and with more and more [tag-tec network marketing]network marketers[/tag-tec] joining our inspiring community, the layout needs to accommodate the visibility of more blogs without the site looking too cluttered.

You will see that we changed to a 3 column layout so that we can display both the sitewide activity and the recent site wide posts close to the top.

The layout is also much wider to accommodate a soon to be up and running forum and additional social tribe and community building tools amongst a few things.

If you do run into any technicalities along the way, I would really appreciate your feedback. Please contact me if you happen to discover a bug or have any suggestions on how we can improve this site.

What’s happening this week?
Expect to see plenty of video tutorials in this weeks posts as it’s something that I’ve needed to complete for sometime, but been holding back to make sure that most of the technicalities have been taken care of.

There are so many great tools within thatMLMbeat that you can use to compliment your personal brand and it’s important that you are aware of the full potential. Now would be the time to position yourself within this community as we are getting ready to turn up the volume!

We should be back into our regular posting schedule by early December.

After the fine tune of our membership and offer is complete, lookout for video updates on our affiliate program which will be launching soon.

But really, the words ‘affiliate program’ are honestly to bland for what we have in store with this, and I’m not even kidding. Just doing the final tests so don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. Let’s just say that you can attach your affiliate code to your profile or ANY post on thatMLMbeat.com or ANY post on ANY MLM blog on thatMLMbeat.com!

That’s a mouthful I know, you might have to read it again. The idea is to make sure that you get rewarded for doing your everyday social activities of sharing content and linking to blogs. Nice, but more on that later!

A Special Invitation

Front Page On Google In Less Than 18 Hours – Here’s How

If you have followed Front Page on Google Part 1 and Part 2, you would have witnessed a case study on 2 long tail keywords that I’ve been optimizing for the front page on Google for the past week.

In part 1 I started off with ‘Social Tribes’ on no 17 and for ‘Free Blog Syndication’ no 7 early yesterday.

Here are the screen shots for the results:

Free Blog Syndication

Social Tribes

You will see at the time these screen shots, I was positioned at no 4 for Free Blog Syndication, no 6 for social tribes and no 5 for social tribe.

To say that I was impressed with my results is an understatement, but here’s the best bit: I actually messed up the entire strategy and still got great results!

I’m not sure if this will have an effect on my rankings over time, but I made a crucial mistake with my bookmarking process (more on that) and only completed half the tasks.

So, as promised and teased in Front Page On Google part 1 and 2 and without holding back on a single thing, here’s the exact strategy that you can duplicate on your next blog post or article:

1.    Thorough keyword research
This step is crucial so please don’t kid yourself. Most Bloggers simply guess and start writing. But if you are going to be spending 30 minutes, an hour or even longer on a blog post, why not take 5 – 10 minutes to really dig into long tail keywords, 3 to 5 word phrases and make that you rank high on search engines?

Data driven decisions outrank wild guessing by many miles.

Use the Google Keyword Tool for thorough keyword research. Make sure that you change the settings to all countries, keep synonyms selected and search.

Have a good look at the advertisers competition and amount of searches. You can go for something like ‘network marketing’, but you are not going to get anywhere with that in one single post. In fact, you will probably need to build an entire authority site around that keyword and build it over a long period of time.

Instead, think of problems that your prospects might be having and offer a solution. Think 3 – 4 word phrases that don’t have much competition. These long tail keywords are generally searched within the hundreds and under a thousand times.

If your search term seems too competitive or if you just want to double check, head over to Google and type ‘allintitle:keyword’ in the search bar.

What that does is deliver the search results of pages / posts that have your keyword phrase within the TITLE. Generally speaking, if the number of competing websites (top right) are under a thousand and you are doing everything else right, you shouldn’t have a problem getting on the Front Page on Google instantly. Of course, there are exceptions to these rules.

2.    Keyword placement
Other than a few crucial placements in my opinion, you don’t need to be too concerned about this. Gone of the days of repeating your keywords like a parrot.

It’s best to have your keywords in mind and write naturally.

If you can however get the keyword or key phrase positioned within the first sentence or first paragraph, do that.

Throughout the post also bold your key phrase. Everything in moderation of course. This post is a great example of this.

Placing your key phrase as a heading like I’ve done before the images also score points with the search engine spiders. If it’s suitable, also use your key phrase as anchor text.

IMPORTANT: It’s all good and great to have content that’s perfect for search engine spiders, but writing content for the human eye is much more important. Getting ranked on the front page on Google is great, but if no one wants to read your post, then what’s the point?

3.    Write a new article and post it on Blogger.com
Create a new article from scratch (recommended) focusing on your long tail keywords. This is where I made a huge mistake. I’ll explain shortly.

Make sure that you use anchor text, like I’m using here for social tribes, that links back to your post that you want to rank for.

(don’t forget your key phrase in the TITLE of your blogger post of course!)

4.    Digg and Reddit it!
Create a campaign on Digg and Reddit that leads to your new post that you did on Blogger.

And here is my BIG mistake: I rewrote the original post I did for Blogger. By the time I got to blogger, my original post had already been Dugg by one of our readers and Digg does not accept duplicates. So again, be sure to keep your post on blogger original.

5.   Bookmark Your Digg and Reddit Campaign

Here’s the fun part! Bookmark your campaigns on Digg and Reddit Submissions and bookmark then across 3 different bookmarking networks.

Now it is really important that you get someone else to do the bookmarking for you. This is where  Syndd comes into play. Synnd, together with parts of the Superspindle Strategy as mentioned above, is a great way to outsource all your social and internet marketing in minutes.

Without this you will need lots of time on your hands and 2 to 3 dozen friends to help you out religiously for every single blog post or piece of marketing that you choose to do.

Final step that I didn’t complete:
Bookmark your submissions page on Digg and Reddit on 3 other bookmarking networks that you didn’t use in Step 5. Your submissions page is the page that shows all the content that you have submitted to Digg and Reddit.
