MLM Women: Do They Do It Better Than Men? [Youtube]
Nov 10 2009 in MLM Blog, mlm blogs by George Fourie
Are MLM Women better than MLM Men? While browsing through various Internet and Network Marketing videos on Youtube, I found this movie and thought it could turn into a fun little debate.
That was before I read how personally so many MLM men took this video in the comments section! Nevertheless, it was enough to change the title of this post which started out as “MLM Women Who Rock On Youtube” to this.
So before continuing with the latter and just to confirm, I still bat for the same team!
What are your thoughts on this? Do MLM Women have a distinct advantage over MLM Men? Or is fair game for all?
Here is the video that caused the controversy:

I think it is true that women are naturally better networkers. The numbers are clear that a vast majority of the people making a living in this industry are women. I believe this is because of the way women interact and share with other women allows them to be better natural sharing sales people.
The anomaly though is that the top earners, the people making a million or more a year are disproportionally men. I suspect that this is because men focus less on the product and more on building a business or “winning”
The irony is that with out the women the men would never make it to the top.

@bobfirestone thanks for the comment. I personally think you clarified this to perfection. Plus, you just sparked an ‘aha’ moment which made me dig deep into our first thatMLMbeat blog for a related few posts. As you mentioned, Men are possibly more business building focused and women are possibly naturally more talkative and sharing sales people. Wouldn’t this be more of a difference between personality types, rather than MLM women vs MLM Men? Mmm, just deleted the links from the comment… here comes a follow up post!

Hey Amanda, welcome and great to have you here!

@George You are right it is the difference between personality type differences that happen to be more dramatic between men and women.
I have met some horrible women networkers and some fantastic ones. I have a friend Adam who does the business with his wife. He recruits and she does the product sales and customer service. It plays to each of their strengths.

I know this may seem a little controversial, and it’s supposed to be…. and you may agree, or disagree…
There are some excellent female and male networkers around, especially online and who do video.
Women tend to be much more attractive on video than men and therefore will attract a lot more viewers to their video’s. I’ve spoken to male networkers before who’ve told me that they joined xxx business because they wanted to be in (female networkers team) because they thought they may have a chance with her.
Not because the company was good, or because the comp plan was powerful, but because they thought it would allow them to get closer to their idol.
I know it sounds sad and silly, but it’s true….
Women will always attract more viewers than men because of their appeal and mainly good nature.
I also know of a few female networkers who have a lot of male groupies, who follow everything they do online. This can come across as a bit creepy for the female networkers.
Let me know your thoughts. Have you ever had this happen to you? or do you know anyone who is has happened to before?

It’s not just in MLM. Statistically, womens’ survival rate in small business is 400% higher than for men.
There are two main reasons that I’ve noticed, and the women on these videos embody them well:
1. Despite their lower survival rate, men enjoy a HUGE advantage over women: they are born with a complete knowledge and mastery of the three most important things in life… business, cars and sport. (If any man dares to confess that his knowledge of these three essentials is not absolute, his manhood is instantly questioned called into question.)
2. While men tend to focus on status, money, cars, business and sport (the effects of success), women tend to focus on relationships, people and feeling — the causes of success!
3. When 90% of all small business owners FAIL (including MLM), and the #1 cause of failure is not knowing what they need to know to survive and thrive, women are 4 times more likely to admit that they don’t know and get the know-how or professional help they need, while men tend to deny that they don’t know, because they were born with infallible and total knowledge of these things!
Society does terrible things to both genders in the form of emotional conditioning from childhood. So unnecessary.

In general, you can say that more women are successful in MLM or any business because the population of men:women is like 1:5.
I’m not saying that to turn down the successful women. But bragging why women are more successful just makes sense when you put the population ratio into the picture.
If I say that men are more successful in basketball profession than women… of course I am right. There are more men who play basketball than women. That’s not a perfect analogy but I do hope you get the picture.
Anyways, the videos should not in any way let men get affected by it. Any business have competition, and these videos are just perfect examples of a very tight competition in MLM.
If women here (aside from the videos above) are indeed successful… wouldn’t it be nice to help men just as they would help their brother or any male relative than keep on bragging how better they are?
