Make this domain your “online home”, such as a personal blog where you can express your personality, create a following, and interact with your visitors. There are all kinds of widgets and applications you can use on your blog to create a community, get discussions going, and socially interact with your readers. Applications like TWITTER, Google Friend Connect, My BLogLog, and ChatToText are some well-known ones, just to name a few.
Always Use Your Real Name and Picture
Avoid using keywords for your name and pictures of money or sunsets to replace your face. You’re here to build relationships with people and you never know when you’ll come across your next business partner. So always try to keep it real, which helps build connection and trust. I don’t know how many times I’ve glazed over profiles with pictures of anything and everything other than an actual human face with generic names like “Make Fast Money Online” or “Internet Success”. To me, that right there just spells a pushy marketer; and I’m thinking “spam” right off the bat. First impressions are important.
Deliver Value to Your Market
The best way to brand your name online isn’t to endlessly pitch your products all over your blog. Overdosed self-promoting is a big No-NO and will turn people away fast! Instead, be a leader, a teacher, and the one to provide guidance and value to your target market. That will ensure you a respectable “branding” and create repeat visitors.
