Twitter (for me at least) is all about building relationships, sharing relevant content and connecting with like minded people. [tag-tec twitter automation]Twitter automation[/tag-tec] can save you lots of time, but there are plenty of pitfalls that can ruin your credibility along the way.
Unless you are building a corporate brand that’s focused on company updates or something similar, automating Twitter for your relationship building needs to be approached with a little bit of finesse.
One of those classy acts of content sharing can be done via RSS Syndication.
Some tweeple tweet useful quotes with Twitter hashtags and inspirational messages with Twitter Automation Tools when they are not contributing to their public Twitter timeline in person.
But why not share the content from your favorite blogs or blog community that you follow and read with Google Reader?
Here are the 4 sites that will make this possible:
The process is quite simple:
1. You subscribe to your favorite blogs via RSS in Google Reader.
2. You choose all or a select number of blogs that you want to buzz on Twitter and add them all to a folder.
3. Then you set the folder as public and open your public page.
4. Grab the RSS Feed and head over to Feedburner to burn your feed.
5. Take the Feedburner Feed, head over to Twitterfeed and connect it to your Twitter account.
Your done!
I opened a Twitter account that shares All the blogs that I follow with Google Reader.
Spot the blog posts that are prefixed with “Hot Blog Posts:”. Here is the Twitter Account that I’ve used for this.
There must be dozens of different strategies that you can combine and add value by sharing your personal tribes content or favorite blogs.
How will you use this Twitter Automation strategy to streamline your public Twitter timeline?

Awesome post here my man. Those auto-tweets are a pet peeve of mine with all the famous “quotes”, they don’t contribute ANY value at all.
People would be well served to heed this advice.
Thanks Kurt! Yes, it can get a bit much. I think instant content delivery is much better.
Thanks. I am getting a wonderful introduction in using social media. I will following your blog.
I love it. Thanks for this information. It is a fantastic way to provide value even when you are not able to get on twitter.
If you wanted to you could add
Yahoo Pipes into the mix to filter
out post.
You can set it to only post blog
post to Twitter that have certain
keywords in the title or the body.
Just a little tip… enJOY!
Nice, great tip Eric!

Hi George
I just set up my feed and I want to say a huge thank you to you for this really innovative and helpful tutorial. I used to automate some quotes etc. but never really liked the concept but couldn’t figure another way to keep things interesting when I’m not around. Just last week Twitter stopped the automated tweets so I found this just as I need it.
Thanks George – I’ll definitely be tuning in regularly to your fab content.
Hi Rachel, you’re welcome! Funny enough, minutes before finding your comment, I found an awesome tool that will cut the time spent on this process in half.
I haven’t used it yet personally, but I’ve heard of it before and I know my source only shares the good stuff!
Here it is:

By the looks of it, you simply add the feeds that you like into a text box and it combines it all into one.
Will definitely be playing around with it.
Let me know if you have any success with it!
